Goodbye Yesterday (2025 Book Wrap Up, Favorite Books of The Year & 2026 TBR)

Hello New Year! This year has been…just wow. I mean, this was definetly a year of growth for me. God is so good! Jesus moved a lot this year for me, and while I suppose He has been moving for a while, He really opened my eyes to things in these passed few months.
Sometimes I forget that Jesus is a book lover. Like, He legit invented the greatest book of all time. Reading the bible this year has been amazing. Reading just the bible in Lent was really good for me, and helped remind me that of all the books I read: the bible the best out of them all.
Books were a huge part of my year, and while my goal was to read 100 total, I successfully finished 75 books total, which, considering that I didn’t read for the whole month of March and that that is almost triple how many books I read last year…I’m okay with it. Goal for next year is still going to reset for 100!

new favorite book

Ghaghahgahagh. Of Love And Treason by Jamie Ogle is my all time new favorite book. Everyone would always ask me what my favorite book was before this and i would have to answer that I didn’t have one. When I finished this one…it was a dead giveaway away.
Are you a book crier? And I am not talking about teary-vision-misty-eyed “book crier”. I am talkin’ about sobbing-I-need-tissues-red-eyed-moments where you don’t know if you-want-to-hug-or-throw-the-book-across-the-room book crier. Well, neither am I—until this book.
With a retelling of the life of St. Valentine, Jamie Ogle made a story that wasn’t just enjoyable, it was personal. There are so many things I related on with that characters, that in and of itself made me want to cry. We all mostly know the history behind Valentine’s day, but this was a spin on it that made it one of my favorite holidays—even if it was fictional.
Full review is to come! (Still catching up from reviews in May o.o)

  1. This is a bit weird, but I really love your tittle. XD Goodbye yesterday is just amazing.

I've heard/read so many of those books you have. I personally was not a big fan of Scythe when I read it. I can't wait to read more of your posts in 2026!

I hope that you will check out my new years post. 🙃 I plan on publishing it later today!

    2. Lol. If it was between who Avery went with? 100% Jamie. But my personal preference? Nash. Although, Jamie is second on the list fs.

    3. I love him so much, but I would never steal him from Avery. They are meant to be.

    4. Why can’t I finally just like ONE female main character?? Alas, i just didn’t really like Avery, but yes. Jameson and her are great. Although I just loved Nash and Libby, so I don’t really care about Avery anymore. But yes, agreed on them together. Now JLB is just making me pay in The Naturals on who Cassie goes with t.t

    5. Ehh. I tend to not like most main characters I read about. I love The Hunger Games, but can’t stand Katniss. Something about them just gets on my nerves and the choices they make I’m just like, “WHYYYYY”. Like when Avery is debating going with Grayson i wanted to pop into the book and slap her XD
Alas, I guess Avery wasn’t terrible.

    6. I had the very same thought. XD Grayson was just not right for her.

    7. Now that was can very much agree on. Although, have you read The Grandest Game yet? I actually like Grayson a lot in that whole series, but maybe its cause he finally finds a girl 🤦‍♀️
