Lent (Reading Fast Overview & TBR Update)

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
—Jeremiah 29:11

Happy Fri-yay! Weekend, here we come. I know this is late being that Lent ended towards the end of April, but I really have been wanting to give an overview and update on this late season of Lent! If you haven’t seen my original post of Lent, CLICK HEREA lot of people like to fast during the Lent season, and there are various different fasts people do. During the season, I had decided to take a break from pleasure reading and was only reading the Bible. Lent started towards the beginning year in the preparation of Easter, from March 5th to April 17th.  My goal towards the beginning of the fast was to finish the whole Bible, but quickly changed towards the end. I started do more of a Bible study with some of the friends I did this fast with, and we enjoyed getting the most out of each chapter, rather than rushing through. I definitely read more of the Bible than I have ever done, and definitely enjoyed it more with just focusing on it and not having other stories swirling around in my mind. I never really thought the Bible as a book, more as a bunch of short stories. But really, its a giant love story of Jesus and us. The beloved loving his bribe so much that He is willing to sacrifice Himself for her and, through thousands of years, fight to win her back. That was just mind blowing to come to during this Lent season.

“Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.”
Ephesians 5:25-27
