Another Book Haul

Smell that? Oh, yes—books. There’s more. This past month I have gotten blessed by so many people gifting me books, but also in hunting some down at thrift and local book stores. Here’s my most recent collection of newbies that have been filling my shelves:

Francine Rivers, I have heard, is an amazing author. This particular book was recommended by Nadine Brandes on her blog, and so when I saw it at our local Barnes & Noble, I grabbed it. I’m planning of reading this book soon, but if not Im really excited to start it in a couple years. It’s book one of a series, so I’m looking forward to a bunch of character development and quality writing.

Caraval, by Stephanie Garber is one of the books I recently got that is highest on my TBR. It’s a YA novel, that follows two sisters as they participate in a fantastical game where reality and the game seem to mix together. The story is apparently one of love, sacrifice, and the bond between sisters.

Mortal Engines is a book that focuses on a futuristic, steampunk version of London in a dystopian world. I sounds super interesting and there’s a movie that came out not too long ago, which should only boost my want to read it.

Oh, *squeals real quick* I just had to get it! I read this book a while ago—The Scourge is one of the sweetest romances I’ve read, and it’s also just a really unique story. Yes, it’s predictable, a teeny bit cringe, but I just adore it.

So…yes. I grabbed the second to a series…again. But, it was in the free bin at our local thrift store. Karen Kingsbury is a bestselling author with more than one hundred books, and I’ve heard so many things about her and knew she was an author I could trust.

A bestie of my got me this book, and I am so excited to read it. When The World Was Ours is a World War II novel, and she knew I love a good war book. Being that its inspired by a true story just is going to make it a book that hit more than others in my opinion, so I can’t wait.

I have actually never even watched the movie or TV show to this one, but Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke found in a little library at a Price Chopper and grabbed it. I have heard so many people I know have been telling me about how they watched this story’s TV show growing up, and I have been wanting to watch it for a while now and didn’t even think to look into getting the book. If its anything like the beloved When Calls The Heart, I think I am going to try it out.

I found this Janette Oke in the same little library actually as well. Who doesn’t like a good hallmark in a book? They Called Her Mrs. Doc reminded me of a Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman in a book form, which was one of my favorites, so I figured I’d grab it also.

The Orphan Sisters I found at our library free bin, and being that its inspired was another war book, I took it I always love a book inspired by sister duos, and this book looked decent enough.

The Book Thief, by Mark Zusak is a book that Has been on my TBR for a long time now, and I final picked it up. Yet another war book, and a super I tresting one at that. It was recommended after I read Words On Fire by Jennifer Neilsen, and it’s definitely one I’ll be reading hopefully soon.

An amazing retelling of Saint Nicholas, As Sure As The Sea is a Christian novel that I’m so excited to read. For a book that recently came out, you don't see to many Christian novels being published this day and age. My friend got me this book for a birthday gift, and it’s probably highest book on my TBR now. Cant wait!

I’d recommend getting any or all of these books and reading with me. Im so excited about adding these books to my collection, and reading them soon.

Tally ho,
Finlee
