Beowulf is an Old English epic “poem” about the legend. The storyline was very interesting, and very fantastical and mythological. It was constant battle and war, which was very intriguing, and there was a lot of moral bravery and strength shown by Beowulf and his men.
Although the storyline was interesting, because it is a “poem” there were some hard parts to understand. There were many times that I had to go back and read a sentence or two because of how difficult the formatting was to read. And on top of that, it was definitely an Old English book, you could just tell by the way people spoke and acted.
I did enjoy the story, but would recommend it for 12-13+ because of how hard it was to understand at some points. I would rate this book a 4 out of 10, mostly because I personally prefer different genres, but that doesn’t mean someone else would really enjoy it!
