A Wrinkle In Time (2018 Movie Review)

After reading the book A Wrinkle In Time only recently, I was interested in seeing that there was a movie for it! My excitement kind of dwindled when I heard that Disney had made it and seeing that it was clearly adapted. But I watched this movie trying to keep an opened mind, hoping to give you all a honest review.

Meg Murry has always been different, both her parent were space scientists after all! But Meg’s life really changes when her father “leaves” Meg and her family. Meg, her brother, and her friend Calvin go on a universe traveling journey to find out if Mr. Murry is still alive…
This movie was clearly adapted, and I was honestly disappointed. The actors were very different looking than the original characters, and many things were added and taken out. After reading the book, which was very good, I was hoping it see something that took the beautiful story off the pages. That’s what one expects in a movie. Although many movies that are based off books aren’t always the exact same, this movie was quite a bit different. They took out some important and interesting parts, and added unnecessary content. All that being said, I did have some laughs in this movie, and it is always fun to see what people can do with bringing a storyline to life. I would probably rate this movie a 6 out of 10.
