The Hunger Games (Book & Movie Review)

 

In the ruins of a place once known as North America is the nation of Panem, a Capitol full of vanity, surrounded by twelve broken-down districts. The Capitol is cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to compete in the yearly Hunger Games, a fight to the death on TV. Sixteen year old, Katniss Everdeen takes the place of her sister in the games, her fellow district 12 tribute, Peeta Mellark, were now as good as dead. But Katniss has been close to dead before, she just has to put aside her own feelings and the feelings of others, if she has any chance in winning...

The Hunger Games was such an amazing book, and they really showed that in the movie! I read the book in two days and wasn't able to put it down. Suzanne Collins write in such a way that makes you feel like you are in Panem, and the movie displays that very well. There is every different aspect in Collins writing, action, romance, adventure, it was such a thriller. The actors were able to pull the characters off very well, and they make you want to watch more! My favorite characters were Haymitch, Peeta and Effie, so keep an eye out for them, and i just loved the storyline from relationships to were they live. There we literally times were I laughed out lound reading because of these characters!

Definitely would recommend the book and movie for teens and up, and I would rate both the book and movie a 9 out of 10!
