Anne Of Windy Poplars, by L. M. Montgomery (Book Review)

Gilbert Blythe had done it, he finally had his beloved Anne-girl. But with Gilbert going and becoming a doctor, Anne and Gilbert have to spend three years apart while he finishes medical school. 

During those three years, Anne gets a job in Summerside, and boards at Windy Poplars. Anne quickly makes new friends and finds 'Kindred Spirits' among Summerside. Anne keeps Gilbert up to date with all her adventure through letters, and can't wait to see him soon...

Anne Shirley is definitely one of my roll models. She is such a good character and you never can find something dull about her. In this book, about half of it is Anne's letters to Gilbert, and the other half is Anne's life in Windy Poplars. 

I read the other first three Anne Of Green Gables books when I was younger, and I enjoyed them, but I would really recommend the Anne of Green Gables series for 12-13 year old. And i'll tell you why: When I read the first three books before, I knew what was going on, but I didn't really relate to the characters. I just thought is was a fun book to read and then move on to the next. But the Anne of Green Gables series is a story, if you really understand and relate, is a story you will always remember. I know this book is one that I will. As you know, this book is a romance as well as adventure that 7th and 8th graders would really and truly appreciate more so than 5th and 6th graders. Because I can tell you from experience, I didn't really appreciate Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, and Anne of the Island, as much as I would have liked reading it when I was younger. Yeah I knew what was going on, but now that I'm older, I look back on reading those wishing I read them as an older reader, because now I appreciate the story of Anne so so much. 

Anne is a light to others! In this book, she helps peoples worlds get flipped from darkness to light, literally. I read through this book so fast because you just can't get enough. L. M. Montgomery writes so well, it's almost like watching the characters come to life.

I think that I have found my new spark of Anne of Green Gables. I recently watched the Megan Follows Anne of Green Gables movies, and they are so well done, I know people have tried to re-create it, but I think no one should ever try to re-create it again. It is so amazingly well done. And it has really got me back in to it!
