The Hunger Games, The Ballad of Songbirds And Snakes (Book Review)
It’s the tenth annual Hunger Games. Eighteen-year-old Coriolanus Snow has one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. Coriolanus must win. His once great family of Snow’s has fallen on hard times, and winning would mean a new life. But the odds are not in his favor, when he gets the female tribute from District 12, Lucy Gray, the lowest honor you can get. But Coriolanus starts to like Lucy Gray, which only makes him need to win even more. He will have to make right choices if there is any chance of winning the games, because it means honor or ruin, love or hate, life or death…
“Snow lands on top…”
The Ballad of The Songbirds And The Snakes was a great prequel to the original three Hunter Game books. Suzanne Collins did a great job in showing the character development in Snow. It was interesting having the main character, be the antagonist. I found it hard to not like him in the beginning of the book, but she did a very good way of showing how he’s character changes. The movie was good as well, but I do think that it was not the best out of all the Hunger Games movies. They steered away a bit from the original storyline, even though that actors did do a good job in bringing the characters out.
Suzanne Collins didn’t fail yet again to bring all the different aspects into her story, and keep the reader wanting to read more.
This series was just so amazing. CLICK HERE to see my friends opinion of this book, and make sure to follow her blog also!
I would recommend this book and movie for teens and up, and would rate the book a 9 out of 10 & the movie a 8 out of 10 because like I’ve said, books are always better than movies!
